Elizabeth's Words

When Elizabeth died, there was such a big hole in our lives that I wondered how we could continue without her. Then I remembered her words as she played the role of the Herald Angel during a Christmas prayer time only weeks before she died: “Be not afraid. I bring you good news of great joy.” Elizabeth had answered my question before I asked it. God is with us because God loves us. That is Elizabeth’s joy. That is our joy.

I started coming to dinner at L’Arche regularly, even though I had to leave the office early to get there on time. I began to ask myself why I enjoyed it. I came up with two answers: people and people. Little by little, I started to see. I have fallen in love with Divine Presence that I experience through these people.
