L’Arche welcomes church, student, and civic groups, as well as groups of friends who strengthen their relationships by helping together. Groups can volunteer once or regularly. Many hands make light work of large undertakings, and in the past volunteer groups have painted, stained decks, done yard work, moved furniture . . . it seems there’s always something we need that works well for groups. As always, we talk with the group coordinator to figure out how the group’s gifts and desires fit with the community’s needs.

When L'Arche comes into a Georgetown classroom for a class on "The Church and the Poor" the ground shifts and the labels are reversed.  L'Arche is "the Church" inviting "the Poor" to experience their own gifts of love and understanding.
