We have been receiving emails and calls from people who want to help with support and reconstruction efforts. L'Arche International states that for now, it's better not to send any money to Haiti until we have better view of the needs.

In the meantime, you and/or others who wish to support this effort are invited to make tax-deductible donations payable to L'Arche USA, with a designation for "Solidarity With Haiti."

Donations may also be made on-line at www.larcheusa.org. Again, please indicate that it is for Haiti.

Each donor will receive a tax-receipt for their contribution and an official acknowledgement of their contribution and its designation.

L'Arche International will give us instructions for transferring the donations to Haiti. Please know that, as always, donations made to L'Arche USA on behalf of other communities are forwarded in their entirety.

One day a group led by a theology professor at Duke University visited. Michael wandered by and sat down in the living room with us. One person asked me, “What is most difficult for L’Arche Assistants?” I turned to Michael and asked, “Michael, what do you think is most difficult for L’Arche Assistants?”  After deep thought, Michael replied, “Being themselves.”
